Aquaponics is the cultivation of plants and (usually) fish in a recirculating and symbiotic environment.
This combination of Aquaculture and Hydroponics does not discharge or exchange water but employs the relationship between the fish and plants to maintain the growing environment. Water is topped up to replace water lost to evaporation and to absorption by plants.
